What you will do

• Design, write, and test embedded firmware for IoT devices including GOAnywhere, extensible products, and asset trackers.
• Develop CAN protocol drivers and contribute to both application-layer and low-level driver work.
• Implement architectural improvements for modem, GPS, vehicle data, and security modules.
• Write unit tests and conduct integration and system-level testing in real and simulated vehicles.
• Perform comprehensive code reviews and maintain detailed technical documentation to ensure industry standards.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in embedded firmware and hardware systems development.
• Proficiency in embedded C and C++ with hands-on experience in CAN protocol driver development.
• Experience with embedded RTOS, microcontroller design, and CI/CD practices for embedded products.
• Familiarity with wireless products including cellular and Bluetooth, and experience with modem and GPS firmware.
• Ability to read schematics and data sheets to influence firmware development and debugging.
• Must be based in or eligible to work in Oakville or Waterloo, Ontario, Canada.
