What you will do

• Design, develop, and maintain low-level CPU software in Arista products.
• Develop automated tests using C, C++, and Python to validate features.
• Collaborate with hardware engineers and vendors to qualify new CPUs and components.
• Track Linux Kernel developments and contribute features back to open-source BIOS communities.
• Analyze and fix complex problems in customer networks and system tests.
• Provide technical leadership and mentor junior engineers.

Requirements

• BS in CS/EE/CE with 8+ years experience, MS with 6+ years, or PhD with 3+ years.
• Expert knowledge and extensive experience programming in C.
• Experience in CPU firmware, BIOS, and boot loader environments, including bringing up new CPU boards.
• Strong proficiency in diagnosing and fixing bugs in low-level firmware.
• Experience with x86 and ARM CPU architectures.
• Must be based in or eligible to work in Vancouver, Canada.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of C++ and Python.
• Familiarity with Linux kernel architecture, design, and implementation.
• Understanding of IP networking architecture and principles.
