What you will do

• Perform specimen receipt, accessioning, and isolation procedures according to standard operating procedures.
• Maintain laboratory equipment, clean labware, and ensure the cleanliness of benches.
• Document all corrective actions and perform routine preventative maintenance on test systems.
• Prepare reagents required for laboratory preparation.
• Provide hands-on training, guidance, and mentorship to new accessioning personnel.
• Participate in projects and process improvements for sample receipt and accessioning.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in biology or related life sciences field.
• Must be based in or be able to work onsite in Menlo Park, CA.
• Excellent attention to detail and effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to multitask and work independently.

Nice to have

• Experience in biophysics, molecular biology (DNA purification, PCR, electrophoresis), or next-generation DNA sequencing (NGS).
• At least 6 months of experience with molecular biology techniques in a research or clinical laboratory.
• Previous clinical laboratory experience.
