What you will do

• Perform high complexity molecular genetic testing on clinical specimens.
• Follow SOPs for specimen handling, processing, test analyses, and recording results.
• Execute and document laboratory quality control and assurance procedures.
• Prepare reagents and perform proficiency testing for clinical tests.
• Identify and troubleshoot basic issues affecting test performance and document corrective actions.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.

Requirements

• Active California Department of Public Health Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) or Clinical Genetic Molecular Biology Scientist (CGMBS) license (no exceptions).
• Experience in high complexity clinical laboratory testing, preferably in molecular diagnostics.
• Availability to work 1st shift: Tuesday - Saturday, 5:00am - 1:30pm.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Proficiency with diverse computer platforms and technology.
• Physical ability to lift up to 25 pounds and perform repetitive manual movements.

Nice to have

• Experience performing molecular testing such as PCR, Microarray, or Sanger/NGS sequencing.
