Vice President, Threat Detection & Response (Cybersecurity)

Location: Remote within the United States

Compensation: $250,000–$320,000 USD annual base salary, plus bonus and equity

What you will do

• Lead the entire Threat Detection & Response organization, including the SOC, security analysis, security triage, tactical response, detection engineering, threat hunting, and adversary tactics.
• Define and execute the multi-year TD&R strategy, system design, organizational structure, and measurable business outcomes.
• Partner with Product, Engineering, Innovation, Data, Support, and Sales to develop an agentic SOC operating model.
• Improve mean time to detect and respond, detection coverage, quality, and operational consistency.
• Lead organizational change, cultural transformation, analyst trust, and transparency during the transition to greater automation.
• Build a resilient leadership bench and address operational bottlenecks, tool friction, analyst burnout risks, and evolving threat activity.

Requirements

• 10+ years leading security operations, threat detection and response, incident response, threat hunting, or related cybersecurity functions.
• 5+ years leading through managers and directors across a multifunctional business unit.
• Experience creating and executing strategic plans for major security functions, including organizational design and resource decisions.
• Strong business judgment and the ability to connect security metrics with customer retention, margin, and company growth.
• A technical perspective on where automation can scale security operations and where human judgment must remain primary.
• Experience building leadership depth, developing accountable team cultures, and communicating technical risks to boards and executive teams.
