Lead Data Scientist Mortgages (Fintech)

Lead Data Scientist Mortgages (GenAI/LLM): Shaping how AI and GenAI are applied in the mortgage domain with an accent on end-to-end ownership of AI solutions and technical roadmap definition. Focus on designing scalable LLM patterns, agentic AI, and integrating AI into business-critical mortgage processes.

Location: Hybrid; Must be based in the Netherlands (2 office days per week in Rotterdam)

Salary: €6,378 – €8,504 per month

What you will do

• Translate business challenges into scalable AI solutions that create real value in mortgage processes.
• Take end-to-end ownership of high-impact AI and GenAI solutions, from problem framing to deployment and monitoring.
• Implement modern AI capabilities, including foundation models, LLMs, and agentic patterns using OpenAI and other platforms.
• Act as a senior technical sparring partner for AI engineers, architects, and product leads to guide solution design.
• Coach and mentor data scientists to increase the overall technical maturity and impact of the team.

Requirements

• 8+ years of professional experience in a data and/or engineering environment.
• 5+ years of experience in developing and delivering AI or data science solutions.
• Proven experience delivering AI solutions in production, specifically with LLMs, NLP, and foundation models.
• Strong Python skills and familiarity with software engineering best practices.
• Experience with cloud platforms such as Azure and/or AWS, including managed AI services.
• Ability to influence decisions among stakeholders based on technical expertise without relying on hierarchy.
