Intermediate Accountant

What you will do

• Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, expenses, and accurate financial records.
• Prepare monthly financial reports and schedules, and support budgeting, forecasting, cash-flow monitoring, and month-end and year-end close.
• Coordinate with external accountants, auditors, tax advisors, and banking partners on Japanese accounting and tax requirements.
• Support group reporting, intercompany transactions, payroll operations in Japan, and reporting deadlines.
• Manage contracts, invoices, payments, procurement, vendor deliverables, and documentation for external partners.
• Support compliance, audit preparation, filing systems, and cross-department process improvements.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of accounting or finance experience.
• Experience working in Japan and familiarity with Japanese accounting practices.
• Proficiency with accounting systems and Microsoft Excel.
• Strong attention to detail, organization, communication, problem-solving, and process management skills.
• Ability to handle sensitive information confidentially, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines.
• A bachelor's degree or 10 years of experience for Japanese visa qualifications.

Nice to have

• Experience with international or parent-company reporting structures.
• Background in gaming, software, entertainment, or technology.
• Experience coordinating external vendors and contractors.
• Understanding of audit preparation and compliance processes.
• Comfort working in an English and Japanese bilingual environment.
