What you will do

  • Support the development and implementation of policies related to administration, governance, and resource allocation within OSW.
  • Conduct policy research, gap analyses, and risk assessments to facilitate senior leader decision-making.
  • Prepare executive-level staff packages, briefing materials, and official correspondence for Department of War leadership.
  • Coordinate cross-functional efforts across Military Departments, Defense Agencies, and external stakeholders.
  • Monitor the effectiveness of approved policies and develop performance metrics to assess organizational outcomes.
  • Lead special projects, organizational studies, and contingency planning efforts.

Requirements

  • Active Top Secret security clearance with eligibility for SCI access.
  • Master’s degree.
  • 15+ years of experience supporting Department of War organizations, defense policy, or administration.
  • 12+ years of experience working within the Office of the Secretary of War.
  • Proven experience in policy analysis, strategic planning, and developing executive-level briefings.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams).

Nice to have

  • Active TS/SCI clearance.
  • Experience building productive relationships with military and civilian stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities independently and anticipate leadership requirements.
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams for high-visibility initiatives.
