What you will do

• Replace legacy Python/Ansible automation with a centralized, deterministic orchestration platform.
• Design execution patterns featuring retries, idempotency, rate limiting, and safe rollback mechanisms.
• Implement safe rollout strategies using segmentation, canaries, and automated health checks.
• Enhance system observability through metrics, traces, and replayable histories.
• Integrate AI/LLM capabilities to accelerate legacy code migration and automate runbook generation.
• Participate in on-call rotations and drive software-based fixes to reduce operational toil.

Requirements

• Must be based in or able to commute to San Jose, CA for a hybrid role (3 days/week onsite).
• BS/MS in Computer Science or related field with 5+ years of experience in production-grade software systems.
• Strong proficiency in backend languages such as Go, Java, C++, or Rust.
• Deep experience designing and operating distributed systems, including concurrency and performance optimization.
• Proven track record of building automation using REST APIs with strong guarantees for idempotency and safe rollouts.
• Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS/GCP), containerization (Docker), and CI/CD workflows (GitLab).

Nice to have

• Experience with Temporal or similar platforms for large-scale fleet orchestration.
• Testing discipline including E2E harnesses, fault injection, and chaos engineering.
• Proficiency in PostgreSQL for high-scale, stateful management-plane services.
