What you will do

• Own a specific domain within scene understanding, such as traffic controls or construction zones.
• Lead the analysis of real-world scene understanding issues to develop and execute technical roadmaps.
• Build and scale high-performing engineering and research teams through hiring and people development.
• Make critical project staffing and technical decisions and drive escalations.
• Collaborate with product and safety partners to deliver short- and long-term improvements for scaling goals.

Requirements

• Must be based in Mountain View or San Francisco, California
• Bachelors in Computer Science, a similar discipline, or equivalent deep learning experience.
• 7+ years of experience building and deploying deep learning/computer vision models in production, ideally in AV or robotics.
• 2-3+ years of experience directly managing and scaling engineering/research teams (5+ reports).
• Fluency in Python, C++, and deep learning frameworks such as PyTorch or JAX.

Nice to have

• MS or PhD Degree in Machine Learning, Robotics, Computer Science, or a similar discipline.
• Publications at top-tier conferences like CVPR, ICCV, ECCV, or NeurIPS.
• Experience with real-time system design.
