What you will do

• Develop and evolve optimization and ML models for reorder point prediction, economic order quantity, and demand forecasting.
• Implement advanced inventory intelligence including vendor lead time modeling and proactive stockout alerting.
• Build APIs and tools to expose models to GenAI agent workflows via tool calling and structured I/O.
• Collaborate with PM and design to translate complex real-world inventory problems into tractable models.
• Iterate on model design based on direct feedback from parts managers and procurement teams.
• Contribute to the Python service's performance, observability, and overall reliability.

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional experience in software engineering or data science focusing on optimization or ML systems.
• Strong fluency in optimization paradigms such as LP/MILP, stochastic programming, or simulation.
• Proficiency in Python service engineering, including APIs, async, testing, and observability.
• Academic background in Operations Research, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain, or Statistics.
• Proven track record of iterating data-driven systems based on real user feedback.
• Familiarity with GenAI tooling, including LLM tool calling and prompt design.

Nice to have

• Experience shipping inventory management or procurement optimization at scale in a product company.
• Exposure to learning-augmented optimization using historical consumption data.
• Domain expertise in MRO (Maintenance, Repair & Operations) or manufacturing supply chains.
• Previous tech-lead experience or desire to grow into a leadership role.
