What you will do

• Lead solution validation for smart-metering hardware and software against strict technical specifications.
• Run lab-to-field testing, including functionality and hardware specification testing, and support system-wide integration with grid management applications.
• Resolve complex technical hurdles by adapting and modifying standard testing procedures and creating new engineering approaches for interoperability issues.
• Serve as technical point of contact for metering vendors, providing feedback and identifying requirements for system enhancements.
• Support pilot programs and field readiness by creating procedures and job aids for field technicians and operations teams.
• Coordinate pre-deployment change management and communicate complex technical findings to leadership and stakeholders.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a closely related technical field.
• 5–8 years of direct engineering experience, including at least 5 years in metering systems, smart grid technologies, or related grid-edge infrastructure.
• Deep understanding of AMI systems, interoperability standards, and formal testing methodologies.
• Hands-on laboratory experience and experience leading cross-functional technical teams.
• Familiarity with wireless communication protocols and IT/network system integration.
