What you will do

• Design, develop, and ship high-quality technical solutions using React, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.
• Act as a core contributor to the Primer React library and internal component systems.
• Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and code reviews to enable broad contribution to the design system.
• Write architecture briefs and proposals to guide the technical health and growth of the design system.
• Collaborate with designers and product engineers to surface common patterns and coach Primer adoption.
• Leverage AI to build, maintain, and automate systems, ensuring both agents and humans can build UI successfully.

Requirements

• Must be based in the United States.
• 6+ years of experience in Software Engineering (or equivalent combination of degree and experience).
• 4+ years of professional experience with JavaScript and React.
• 3+ years of experience writing accessible HTML according to WCAG standards.
• 2+ years of experience contributing to or maintaining a UI component library or design system.

Nice to have

• Experience with TypeScript, Jest, Storybook, and ESLint.
• Proven track record of providing technical leadership.
• Experience benchmarking UI performance and shipping optimizations.
• Comfortable with Git version control and leading complex UI implementations.
