Principal Software Engineer (Game Development)

Location: Must be based in San Mateo, CA (Hybrid: Tuesday to Thursday onsite)

What you will do

• Develop high-performance engine code for all user-created games on the platform.
• Establish foundational architecture and technical direction for the Game Engine data model team.
• Lead and mentor engineers in implementing technological best practices and patterns.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to deliver high-quality functionality across various technology platforms.
• Improve product quality through the implementation of automation testing.
• Manage projects throughout their full lifecycle across desktop, mobile, and console clients.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience with C++ code-generation and analysis tools (libclang, AST, etc.).
• Outstanding systems-level C++ programming skills.
• Deep understanding of CPU operations, smart pointers, templates, and memory management.
• BS or MS in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
• Must have United States work authorization (certain visa categories and H-1B sponsorship may not be supported).

Nice to have

• Familiarity with game engines or large-scale simulations.
• Strong interpersonal skills and follow-through.
