Data Scientist (AdTech)

TL;DR

Location: Hybrid (Hamburg, Germany). Must be based in or able to relocate to Hamburg.

What you will do

• Architect and refine sophisticated targeting and relevance models to improve ad performance and user engagement.
• Develop and optimize bidding policies using Bayesian methods, reinforcement learning, and advanced optimization algorithms.
• Build and deploy meta-learning frameworks to enable personalized ad experiences.
• Conduct rigorous A/B testing and experimentation to validate hypotheses and measure business impact.
• Take end-to-end ownership of models within a modern ML stack (Python, Kubernetes on AWS, Airflow, MLFlow, Trino).
• Mentor team members and lead architectural debates to foster a collaborative environment.

Requirements

• 4+ years of professional experience in Data Science within AdTech, mobile gaming, e-commerce, or similar industries.
• Strong expertise in real-time large-scale recommender systems and neural networks.
• Proficiency in Python and SQL with experience integrating models into automated training and deployment pipelines.
• Solid foundation in mathematical concepts and the ability to translate complex algorithms for various audiences.
• Experience navigating distributed engineering environments producing massive amounts of data.
• Commitment to a hybrid work setup in Hamburg with 3 core office days.
