What you will do

• Design and shape the overall platform strategy and data architecture.
• Build and optimize highly resilient ETL/ELT pipelines using Snowflake, dbt, Airbyte, and Airflow.
• Implement near-real-time event streaming capabilities utilizing Kafka.
• Automate business operations and complex workflows using n8n to eliminate manual work.
• Establish strong data contracts, observability standards, and governance to enable both human and AI-powered systems.
• Provide technical leadership and hands-on mentorship to a team of data engineers.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in data engineering or technical leadership.
• Strong expertise in SQL, Python, data modeling, and scalable data architectures.
• Proven experience designing scalable platforms and migrating legacy systems to modular or event-driven architectures.
• Must be based in Berlin, Germany (Hybrid).
• Strong experience collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders to align technical architecture with business goals.

Nice to have

• Hands-on expertise with the Modern Data Stack (Snowflake, dbt, Airflow, Airbyte, Kafka).
• Experience with AWS, Terraform, Kubernetes, and GitLab CI/CD.
• Experience or strong interest in LLM integrations and workflow automation (OpenAI, Anthropic, LangChain, or LlamaIndex).
• Strong understanding of data quality, observability, and security.
