What you will do
- Own the global material handling strategy for human-assist and cobot-enabled applications across all GM manufacturing.
- Lead the identification, design, and deployment of uMan, lift assist, and cobot applications for sub-assembly and near-line operations.
- Manage and develop a global cross-functional team of engineers and leaders, fostering an inclusive, high-performance culture.
- Establish global standards, best practices, and design guidelines for collaborative robotics and material handling.
- Define and track KPIs for safety, OEE, quality, throughput, and total cost of ownership for deployed solutions.
- Collaborate with plant leadership and the Autonomous Robotics Center to convert operational pain points into deployable solutions.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Robotics, Manufacturing, or a related discipline.
- 10+ years of progressive experience in manufacturing engineering, automation, or robotics.
- Proven success as a Senior Manager leading complex engineering organizations and other leaders.
- Hands-on experience with collaborative robots, lift assists, or human-assist devices in production environments.
- Must be authorized to work in the US without sponsorship now or in the future.
- Strong ability to operate in high-ambiguity environments and align diverse stakeholders.
Nice to have
- Experience leading global programs within automotive or high-volume discrete manufacturing.
- Knowledge of ISO/ANSI/RIA human-robot collaboration standards.
- Familiarity with digital twin platforms, simulation tools, MES, and plant data analytics.
- Experience with sub-assembly material handling processes such as kitting and lineside delivery.
