Location: Remote from Slovakia

Salary: Base salary will not be lower than 1300€ /brutto.

What you will do

• Administration, operation, and maintenance of MariaDB database environments.
• Design, implementation, and optimization of MariaDB architectures.
• Monitor database performance and tune queries, indexes, and configurations.
• Implement and maintain backup & recovery strategies, including PITR (Point-in-Time Recovery).
• Troubleshoot database issues, analyze root causes, and implement long-term fixes.
• Collaborate closely with development, infrastructure, and operations teams.

Requirements

• Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience with MariaDB or MySQL administration.
• Strong understanding of MariaDB architecture, components, and internal processes.
• Solid knowledge of SQL and ability to optimize complex queries.
• Familiarity with Linux server environments (administration fundamentals required).
• Experience with replication (ROW/STATEMENT, GTID, async, semi-sync).
• English: Upper Intermediate (B2)

Nice to have

• Experience with additional RDBMS platforms (Oracle, PostgreSQL, MS SQL Server).
• Understanding of cloud-based database services (Azure, AWS RDS, Google Cloud SQL).
• Knowledge of shell scripting (Bash) or automation tools.
