Senior AI Engineer (AI)

TL;DR

Senior AI Engineer (AI/TypeScript/Node.js): Designing and optimizing agentic research flows for a customer support platform with an accent on LLM integration, RAG workflows, and MCP servers. What you will do

• Design and implement AI-powered features by integrating LLMs and building AI agents.
• Develop end-to-end (frontend and backend) non-AI features, services, and business logic.
• Build and maintain MCP servers to expose domain data and capabilities as tools for AI agents.
• Implement RAG workflows using embeddings, chunking, and vector databases.
• Instrument and optimize OpenAI integrations for cost, latency, and accuracy in production.
• Collaborate with product, design, and architecture teams to craft AI-driven user experiences.

Requirements

• 6+ years of server-side engineering experience, with 3+ years using TypeScript and Node.js.
• 9+ months of commercial experience building AI features using the OpenAI ecosystem.
• Hands-on expertise with OpenAI Agents SDK (tool/function calling, assistants, stateful workflows).
• Experience designing and implementing MCP servers and structured prompt architectures.
• Proficiency in React, Node.js, and TypeScript; fluency in at least one non-JS language (Java is a strong advantage).
• Must be based in Argentina, Brazil, or Colombia.

Nice to have

• Understanding of semantic search concepts.
• Experience in team leadership roles.
• Exposure to other LLM providers such as Anthropic, Mistral AI, or Hugging Face.
• Experience with streaming UIs, conversational UX, and SSE/WebSockets.
• Knowledge of prompt injection defenses and responsible AI practices.
