Location: Hybrid (Boston, MA). Expected in office two core days per week (typically Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday).

Salary: $146,600 – $215,100

What you will do

• Own the design and implementation of large-scale, highly available backend services and microservices.
• Write high-quality, maintainable code to solve the most challenging technical problems.
• Drive improvements in performance, scalability, and operational excellence to meet demanding SLOs/SLIs.
• Collaborate with Product and Engineering management to define the long-term technical roadmap and manage technical debt.
• Act as a lead technical mentor, conducting rigorous code and design reviews to raise the technical bar.
• Coordinate technical collaboration across teams to resolve blockers and standardize shared services.

Requirements

• Extensive professional software engineering experience at the Staff level.
• Deep expertise in designing and operating distributed, high-volume backend systems and REST/gRPC APIs.
• Proficiency in at least one major language: JavaScript/TypeScript, Rust, Java, Go, Python, or C#.
• Proven ability to architect solutions using event-driven architectures, DDD, Docker, and Kubernetes.
• Strong knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and CI/CD operational tools.
• Must be based in or able to work hybrid in Boston, MA.
