What you will do

• Own multi-squad technical areas including agentic patterns, integration surfaces, and reliability to drive measurable improvement.
• Collaborate across squads to graduate shared AI capabilities into primitives that multiply organizational output.
• Establish functional-level goals, standards, and best practices for adoption across the engineering organization.
• Represent the company's engineering practice in senior customer conversations and architecture reviews with EHR and platform vendors.
• Diagnose and resolve systemic issues related to quality, reliability, velocity, and cost.
• Mentor and develop other builders while setting ethical standards for patient communications and AI systems.

Requirements

• Must be based in or relocate to Seattle, Santa Barbara, or Kansas City.
• Industry-leading AI-native fluency with a track record of producing high-output results.
• 10+ years of professional engineering experience with expertise in systems architected and run at scale.
• Deep expertise in agentic platforms, EHR integrations, AWS-scale reliability, or AI evaluation.
• Proven ability to influence without authority across multiple functions and squads.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills for executive-level and customer interactions.

Nice to have

• Prior staff-level experience at a healthcare, AI-native, or agentic platform company.
• Experience designing systems for multi-tenant, HIPAA, HITRUST, or FedRAMP-constrained environments.
• Established external profile through publications, conference talks, or open source influence.
• Experience leading incident response and subsequent organizational change.
