Location: In-office position based out of Rockstar’s NYC headquarters in Downtown Manhattan

Salary: $140,000 — $175,000 USD per year

What you will do

• Partner with Data Scientists and business stakeholders to translate analytical needs into robust data infrastructure and workflows.
• Collaborate with the Data Engineering team to design, develop, and maintain scalable data models and pipelines.
• Optimize data systems for high performance and reliability, performing root cause analysis to troubleshoot data issues.
• Build a Data Quality Framework to ensure production data meets SLAs for key stakeholders and business processes.
• Establish best practices for code standards, version control, documentation, testing, and review processes.
• Develop and support CI/CD processes using Terraform, Github, TeamCity, and Octopus.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in analytics or data engineering using Python and PySpark.
• 5+ years of hands-on experience writing and optimizing advanced SQL queries.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a similar technical field.
• Proven track record in building and optimizing large-scale data systems and analytics infrastructure.
• Experience with Databricks, Azure (or cloud equivalents), and pipeline scheduling tools like Airflow and Astronomer.
• Proficiency with CI/CD tools including TeamCity, Terraform, Github, and Octopus.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of software coding practices across the development lifecycle and Agile methodologies.
• Experience with streaming or Near Real-Time (NRT) modeling.
• Passion for technical mentorship.
