Associate Field Engineer (Engineering)

What you will do

• Perform safety and non-safety certification inspections and audits of quality systems at manufacturer facilities.
• Analyze and evaluate examination and test results against UL performance standards and requirements.
• Review manufacturers' programs of production, inspection, and shipping to ensure ongoing compliance.
• Collaborate with customers and Authorities Having Jurisdiction to resolve non-compliance variations.
• Utilize technical instruments such as micrometers, voltmeters, and ammeters for detailed inspections.
• Document all examination results, variations, and test findings in standardized UL forms.

Requirements

• University Degree or equivalent technical certification in Engineering, Physics, or Industrial/Manufacturing Technology.
• Must be based in or be able to relocate to the Central Illinois Area (Bloomington, Lincoln, or Peoria).
• General electronics background and strong ability to read and interpret schematic diagrams.
• Strong mechanical and technical aptitude.
• Ability to work at heights and travel locally and regionally for daily client visits.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for client-interfacing duties.

Nice to have

• Experience in Field Engineering, Compliance, or Quality Engineering.
• ASQ certification.
• Familiarity with UL Standards and 508A Industrial Control Panels.
• Experience with Lightning Protection.
