What you will do

• Manage a pod of engineers developing the Voice AI product, covering call handling, reservations, and service requests.
• Own and evolve the architecture for telephony integrations (Twilio, Bandwidth) and real-time AI components (Deepgram, ElevenLabs, OpenAI).
• Contribute as a hands-on IC, setting the bar for code quality and velocity.
• Collaborate with Product Managers to define the roadmap and prioritization for Voice AI features.
• Mentor engineers and establish execution plans to break down and assign technical work.
• Lead hiring and interviewing efforts for the Voice AI team.

Requirements

• Must be based in the USA.
• 8+ years of professional engineering experience.
• 2+ years of experience leading successful engineering teams.
• Strong background in backend application development.
• Experience building real-time or streaming systems (voice, audio, video, or low-latency event-driven services).
• Proven track record of shipping high-quality products that operate reliably at scale.

Nice to have

• Experience with conversational AI and LLM agent frameworks (e.g., LiveKit Agents, Pipecat).
• Knowledge of telephony (Twilio, SIP) and ASR/TTS providers (Deepgram, ElevenLabs, Cartesia).
• Experience with evaluation and testing harnesses for agentic systems.
