What you will do

• Design, develop, and ship production ML/AI services including model code, API layers, and monitoring.
• Integrate LLM APIs (OpenAI, Anthropic) as building blocks, balancing cost, latency, and quality.
• Write clean, testable OOP software with a strong emphasis on CI/CD and engineering craft.
• Collaborate with Product Engineering and cross-functional teams to translate business needs into technical ML solutions.
• Build evaluation frameworks and iterate quickly based on data-driven performance metrics.
• Develop AI-powered workflows and agentic systems to automate internal pipelines.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's in CS, Mathematics, or equivalent experience.
• 4+ years of professional software engineering experience, with 2+ years in production ML.
• Strong Python fluency with solid OOP instincts and experience writing production-grade software.
• Hands-on experience with LLM APIs, including prompt engineering and function calling.
• Proficiency in building APIs, CI/CD pipelines, and distributed systems (queues, async processing).
• Must be based in or able to relocate to San Francisco, CA.

Nice to have

• Experience with MLOps platforms (MLflow, SageMaker, Vertex).
• Background in OCR, document processing, or information extraction.
• Knowledge of PySpark, dbt, or Snowflake.
• Ruby experience (Rails).
