Platform Support Engineer (Java/Kubernetes)

Location: Hybrid in Atlanta, US. Must be a US Citizen.

What you will do

• Troubleshoot AKS/EKS pods and analyze application/DB performance (RDS, MySQL).
• Investigate and analyze Java, Grails, and Hibernate performance issues to identify and implement root cause solutions.
• Monitor SaaS applications on AWS and Azure, including VPN connections and Elastic Search.
• Manage the full lifecycle of alerts, incidents, and service requests via FreshService.
• Develop operational runbooks and implement automation to reduce toil and waste.
• Collaborate with backend engineering teams to implement preventative measures and ensure adherence to SLAs/KPIs.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, or a related field.
• 2-5 years of experience in Cloud operations and application support, specifically for Java apps.
• Proficiency with Kubernetes and cloud platforms (AWS and Azure).
• US Citizenship is required.
• Experience working with FedRamp (AWS Gov/Azure Government).
• Willingness to work in a 24/7 operating model, including night shifts.

Nice to have

• Experience with Grafana systems and dashboards.
• Proficiency in automation tools and scripting languages such as Python or Bash.
• Experience working in a SaaS environment.
