Infrastructure Architect (Cloud)

Infrastructure Architect (Cloud/Hybrid): Designing and modernizing resilient infrastructure across on-premises, cloud, and hybrid environments for a federal transportation security program with an accent on disaster recovery, scalability, and multi-site architecture. Location: Washington, DC / Nations Capital Region. U.S. Citizenship required (NO EXCEPTIONS). Hybrid work with periodic onsite meetings at federal facilities.

What you will do

• Design and modernize infrastructure architectures across on-premises, cloud, and hybrid environments.
• Lead migration projects from legacy or on-premises environments into government-approved cloud platforms.
• Architect solutions for disaster recovery, failover, continuity of operations, and infrastructure risk mitigation.
• Install, configure, and troubleshoot Dell enterprise hardware including servers, storage, and rack infrastructure.
• Develop technical documentation, architecture diagrams, migration plans, and operational runbooks.
• Collaborate with cybersecurity, network, and DevSecOps teams to ensure secure and supportable solutions.

Requirements

• 8+ years of progressive experience in infrastructure architecture, systems engineering, or cloud architecture.
• U.S. Citizenship is required (NO EXCEPTIONS).
• Ability to obtain and maintain federal suitability or Public Trust clearance.
• Experience with distributed systems and multi-site architecture across geographic sites.
• Hands-on experience installing and managing Dell enterprise hardware.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or Computer Engineering (or equivalent experience).

Nice to have

• Prior experience supporting DHS, TSA, defense, or national security missions.
• Knowledge of FedRAMP, FISMA, NIST 800-53, RMF, or STIG hardening.
• Experience with VMware, Kubernetes, Docker, Terraform, Ansible, Linux, or Windows Server.
• Experience with Azure Government or AWS GovCloud.
• Certifications such as Azure/AWS Solutions Architect, VCP, or Security+.
