Senior Security Operations Analyst (Cybersecurity): Monitoring, detecting, and responding to security incidents to protect key business assets with an accent on SIEM management and incident response. Location: Hybrid - Must be based in Manchester or Leeds (3 days per week in office, 2 days remote)

What you will do

• Oversee the daily operation of the Chronicle SIEM solution, coordinating with Infrastructure, DevOps, and the outsourced SOC.
• Create and fine-tune SIEM rules to enhance threat detection and alerting capabilities.
• Investigate security alerts and cyber incidents through to full remediation.
• Monitor security events to identify trends and coordinate proactive threat hunting activities.
• Manage Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR) tools and assess mitigation plans for identified threats.
• Assist in designing and documenting security policies, standards, and logical security control tests.

Requirements

• Strong understanding of technical and network security requirements.
• Hands-on experience with SIEM tools such as Chronicle, Splunk, or Sentinel.
• Knowledge of Firewalls, IDS/IPS, and Windows Security Event Logs.
• Ability to proactively identify control weaknesses and vulnerabilities.
• Experience with cloud infrastructure fundamentals and traditional technologies.
• Degree in IT/Cyber or an industry-recognized professional qualification.
