TL;DR

Senior Security Engineer (Web3): Building and developing systems and automation to detect, mitigate, and prevent threats targeting staff, products, and users with an accent on anti-abuse and threat intelligence. Focus on operationalizing threat intelligence, automating sharing via AI agents, and analyzing Advanced Persistent Threats (APTs) in the crypto ecosystem.

Location: Hybrid (New York, USA). Must be able to collaborate in-office 10+ days a month.

Salary: $160,000 — $200,000 USD

What you will do

  • Develop systems to detect and disseminate threat intelligence impacting the company and its customers.
  • Build tooling, workflows, and AI agents to streamline the integration of intelligence across the organization.
  • Investigate attacker infrastructure and threat trends to advise on proactive defenses.
  • Create dashboards and alerts to monitor threat detection and public awareness of emerging threats.
  • Support incident response for sophisticated abuse cases and implement long-term preventative measures.
  • Advise on threat intelligence methodologies, tooling, and vendor integrations to improve external security.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in security, abuse prevention, or threat detection, preferably in FinTech or crypto.
  • Proficiency in Python, Go, or similar languages for building automation and detection systems.
  • Experience investigating cyber threats, phishing, and impersonation at scale.
  • Ability to extract insights from attack trends and drive detection improvements via data.
  • Familiarity with abuse reporting and enforcement APIs (threat feeds, domain registrars).
  • Must be based in or able to work from the New York office for hybrid requirements.
