Salary: $235,700 - $339,900 USD

What you will do

• Lead, coach, and develop a team of data engineers, setting the technical bar.
• Own team standards, operations, and code review processes for consistent pipelines and tables.
• Ensure system reliability through measurable goals and SLAs for data accuracy and landing time.
• Develop data models for AI billings and usage, treating data outputs as high-quality products.
• Integrate AI tooling (e.g., Claude Code, Hyperagent) to optimize pipeline development and debugging.
• Collaborate with leaders in data science, growth, sales, and finance to solve ambiguous business problems.

Requirements

• 2+ years of experience managing a data, analytics, or platform engineering team.
• 10+ years of experience building scalable data pipelines, preferably with Airflow.
• Proficiency in Python and advanced SQL, including query tuning.
• Strong experience with observability, SLAs, and incident reduction.
• Proven track record of integrating AI tools into technical workflows.
• Based in San Francisco or New York City.
