Systems Engineer (Biometrics)

What you will do

• Lead end-to-end systems architecture development for biometric collection and processing systems.
• Integrate GOTS and COTS products into secure connected and disconnected operational environments.
• Review DoDAF operational and system views to ensure unified biometric capabilities.
• Support technical, requirements, design, and milestone reviews throughout the system lifecycle.
• Assess and ensure compliance with DoD cybersecurity policies, RMF requirements, and NIST standards.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support system integration, sustainment, and operational readiness.

Requirements

• Active Secret Clearance
• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant engineering discipline.
• Minimum of seven (7) years of professional experience in systems engineering.
• Knowledge of ANSI/NIST ITL standards and DoD Electronic Biometric Transmission Specification (EBTS) requirements.
• Experience with DevOps methodologies and CI/CD tools and practices.
• Familiarity with RMF, NIST cybersecurity standards, and secure systems engineering principles.

Nice to have

• Experience supporting Army or DoD biometric modernization initiatives.
• Familiarity with disconnected, tactical, or expeditionary operating environments.
• Experience integrating biometric systems across enterprise or cloud-based architectures.
• Familiarity with DoDAF architecture development and model-based systems engineering.
• Experience supporting Agile development and automated testing frameworks.
