What you will do

• Design, develop, and deploy scalable backend services using Java and Spring Boot 3 on GCP.
• Take full ownership of the entire development lifecycle for new platform features, from technical design to deployment.
• Implement complex Shopify GraphQL API integrations to solve business logic challenges in the accounting domain.
• Monitor and optimize production environments to ensure platform performance and reliability.
• Participate in code reviews and mentor team members to maintain engineering excellence.

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional backend experience with Java and the Spring Boot framework.
• Deep expertise in designing and consuming Shopify GraphQL APIs.
• Hands-on experience with GCP (Compute Engine, Cloud Run, PubSub).
• Proficiency with Git, GitLab CI/CD pipelines, and Agile methodologies.
• Must be based in Germany.
• Experience with AI coding tools and a willingness to drive AI adoption in development.

Nice to have

• Experience releasing an embedded Shopify App (Polaris).
• Domain knowledge in accounting or e-commerce industries.
• Experience with relational databases (MySQL) or NoSQL solutions.
• Background working in a fast-paced SaaS environment.
