TL;DR
Senior Manager, Site Reliability Engineering (Federal) (SRE/FedRAMP): Leading the reliability, compliance, and operational health of Okta's federal environments with an accent on FedRAMP High, IL4/IL5 operations, continuous monitoring, and federal security relationships. Focus on building compliant automation and CI/CD pipelines, managing incident response and ATO processes, and balancing strict regulatory requirements with infrastructure velocity.

Location: Washington, DC; hybrid. U.S. Citizenship and documentation establishing U.S. Person status are required to access federal environments and protected federal data.

Annual base salary: $207,000–$284,900 USD, plus potential equity, bonus, and benefits.

What you will do

  • Lead and grow an SRE team operating FedRAMP High, IL4, and IL5 environments.
  • Manage operational relationships with federal security stakeholders, including AOs, ISSOs, and ISSMs.
  • Own continuous monitoring, POA&M remediation, vulnerability SLA compliance, and operational risk reporting for the federal boundary.
  • Partner with GovCloud product and security teams on compliant infrastructure changes and change management.
  • Lead incident response and post-incident reviews aligned with federal reporting obligations.
  • Maintain runbooks, SSPs, evidence packages, and compliant self-service tooling, automation, and CI/CD pipelines.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of technical leadership and people management experience, including at least 3 years in a federal or regulated environment.
  • Experience managing relationships with federal security stakeholders and supporting FedRAMP ATO, continuous monitoring, or FISMA assessment processes.
  • Knowledge of NIST SP 800-53, FedRAMP, FISMA, and DISA STIGs.
  • Experience with large-scale cloud infrastructure in FedRAMP-authorized environments; AWS GovCloud experience is preferred.
  • Strong SRE or platform engineering background with Kubernetes, Terraform, CI/CD, observability, and incident management.
  • U.S. Citizenship and U.S. Person status are required; an active or current Secret-or-higher clearance may be required for certain programs.

Nice to have

  • IL4/IL5 experience.
  • Active or current eligibility for a federal security clearance at Secret level or above.
