TL;DR

Senior Payroll Accounting Specialist (Finance): Managing end-to-end monthly payroll processes across multiple legal entities and EoR arrangements with an accent on compliance, accuracy, and cross-functional coordination between Finance and People teams. Focus on reconciling payroll data, overseeing statutory deductions, and optimizing payroll-to-GL processes.

Location: Must be based in Germany (Remote, Hybrid, or Munich office)

What you will do

  • Coordinate monthly payroll for entities in DE, UK, US, and FR, partnering with external providers.
  • Prepare, validate, and review payroll inputs and outputs to ensure high accuracy and resolve discrepancies.
  • Reconcile payroll data with HiBob (HRIS) and oversee statutory deductions and filings.
  • Act as the key liaison between Finance and People teams to resolve employee pay queries.
  • Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations and manage payroll journal entries.
  • Ensure compliance with multi-jurisdictional payroll regulations and drive continuous process improvements.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of multi-country payroll experience, specifically Germany and at least one other jurisdiction (UK or US).
  • Strong understanding of statutory payroll requirements (taxes, pensions, filings).
  • Hands-on experience with HiBob (or similar HRIS) and EoR platforms like Papaya Global or Justworks.
  • Solid background in payroll accounting and payroll-to-GL processes.
  • Excellent written and spoken German and English language skills.
  • Must be based in Germany.

Nice to have

  • Familiarity with DATEV or equivalent payroll tools.
  • French language skills.
