11 bit studios is looking for a Technical Artist to join the team working on Frostpunk 1886. In this role, you will help create high-quality technical art solutions, materials, shaders, and production tools in Unreal Engine 5.

You will collaborate closely with artists, programmers, Technical Directors, and QA to ensure assets are optimized, production-ready, and aligned with the project’s visual and technical goals.

🚀 Responsibilities
• Create high-quality materials and shaders in Unreal Engine 5
• Build and maintain Blueprint- and code-based tools for the art team
• Create and update technical documentation and workflows
• Support optimization, profiling, and debugging efforts
• Collaborate with Art Leads, programmers, Technical Directors, and QA
• Ensure assets meet technical and production requirements

📚 Required Skills
• Strong knowledge of UE5 materials and shading workflows
• Understanding of the UE5 rendering pipeline
• Knowledge of PBR and post-processing workflows
• Experience with Unreal Engine Blueprints
• Practical problem-solving and optimization skills
• Experience creating tools or gameplay-supporting systems
• At least one shipped title or completed commercial project

👍 Nice to Have
• Knowledge of VFX or lighting workflows
• Experience with procedural workflows and node-based tools
• Familiarity with HLSL or GLSL
• Experience with Blender, 3ds Max, or Maya
• Experience collaborating closely with artists and programmers
• Strong portfolio demonstrating technical art skills
