Principal Data Engineer (Healthcare)

Salary: $246,500 - $311,750

What you will do

• Architect a future-state data model and storage architecture using Medallion architecture (Bronze, Silver, Gold layers).
• Build real-time event-driven pipelines and streaming architectures to power AI-driven products.
• Own the accuracy and reliability of core business metrics, designing validation frameworks for the source of truth.
• Write, ship, and maintain high-quality production code, modeling critical domains and core patterns.
• Mentor Data Engineers and drive technical alignment across data engineering, platform, and product teams.
• Define and enforce standards for the enterprise Data Dictionary and metadata strategy.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in data engineering and backend systems at scale.
• Deep proficiency with Snowflake, dbt, Liquibase, Fivetran, Airflow, Kafka, SQL, and Python.
• Experience building production-grade ELT/ETL pipelines in cloud-first environments.
• Proven track record of shipping production enterprise systems that customers depend on.
• Experience building data APIs, context systems, or feature stores for ML/AI applications.
• Must be based in the USA.

Nice to have

• Healthcare domain expertise, specifically revenue cycle management (RCM), billing, and insurance adjudication.
• Experience using AI engineering tools like Claude Code and Codex.
