Senior Software Engineer (Android)

TL;DR

Senior Software Engineer (Android): Designing and developing automotive infotainment software solutions with an accent on HMI application development and system integration. Focus on building optimized, testable code for vehicle input systems and ensuring high-quality performance in a complex, agile automotive environment.

Location: Hybrid role, must be able to report to Mountain View, CA or Warren, MI at least 3 times a week.

Salary: $160,000–$200,000

What you will do

• Design and develop HMI applications for in-vehicle infotainment systems.
• Analyze, resolve, and verify software defects within vehicle infotainment subsystems.
• Integrate vehicle input systems like speech and faceplates with application software.
• Participate in architecture, design, and code reviews to ensure high standards.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams in an Agile/Scrum environment.
• Promote and implement programming best practices and optimized coding standards.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• 5+ years of experience in Android-based infotainment application development.
• Proficiency in Kotlin, Java, and C++ programming and debugging.
• Experience with MVVM, Clean Architecture, and testable frameworks like JUnit and Espresso.
• Strong understanding of object-oriented design and design patterns.
• Must be authorized to work in the U.S. and able to work in a hybrid capacity in CA or MI.

Nice to have

• Prior experience with automotive infotainment systems, including radios and instrument clusters.
• Understanding of the Vehicle Development Process.
