TL;DR

VP Product Marketplaces (Marketplaces): Providing strategic leadership and vision for the marketplace platform and product management teams with an accent on scaling product operating models and driving cross-functional alignment. Focus on delivering high-impact revenue products, optimizing execution across the marketplace ecosystem, and fostering a culture of rapid experimentation and data-informed growth.

Location: Must be based in Toronto or Vancouver (Canada) or Hampton Roads/Virginia Beach area (USA); role follows a hybrid work model requiring 3 days per week in-office. Relocation to Virginia Beach is supported for the right candidate.

What you will do

  • Develop and communicate a multi-year product roadmap aligned with long-term growth objectives.
  • Lead the discovery, design, and delivery of innovative features and high-impact revenue products.
  • Strengthen and scale the product operating model to empower outcome-driven teams.
  • Drive cross-functional alignment between Product, Engineering, Marketing, Sales, and Operations.
  • Represent the product function at the executive level, articulating vision and business impact.
  • Oversee organizational design, talent development, and succession planning within the product team.

Requirements

  • 10+ years in product management with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
  • Proven experience in marketplace, classifieds, or eCommerce environments.
  • Strong commercial acumen with success in product-led growth and monetization.
  • Deep expertise in modern product practices, discovery, and outcome-based delivery.
  • Exceptional executive communication and storytelling skills.
  • Must be based in or willing to relocate to the specified office locations for a hybrid work model.

Nice to have

  • Experience across B2C, B2B, and two-sided marketplace ecosystems.
  • Mobile-first, personalization, and SEO-driven growth experience.
  • Familiarity with modern Product Operating Models.
