TL;DR

Junior Software Engineer (Ruby): Building and maintaining scalable microservices for a high-traffic curated marketplace with an accent on demand, supply, and fulfillment systems. Focus on delivering product innovations, refactoring codebases, and collaborating within autonomous cross-functional teams.

Location: Must be based in the Netherlands and have the right to work in the Netherlands. Hybrid role with a minimum of two days per week in the Amsterdam office.

What you will do

  • Design, develop, test, and deploy resilient microservices within an end-to-end responsible team.
  • Collaborate with product designers, owners, and cross-functional engineers to drive process efficiency.
  • Advocate for best development practices, fix bugs, and perform code refactoring.
  • Participate in Technical Weeks dedicated to innovation, creativity, and knowledge sharing.
  • Support the engineering culture by documenting processes and mentoring peers.

Requirements

  • Must have the right to work in the Netherlands.
  • At least 1 year of experience in a full-time software engineering role.
  • Completed Master's degree.
  • Fundamental knowledge of SQL and relational databases.
  • Experience with at least one mainstream programming language and willingness to learn Ruby.
  • Ability to work in a hybrid setup with at least two days per week in the Amsterdam office.

Nice to have

  • Familiarity with API technologies such as HTTP, REST, JSON, or gRPC.
