What you will do

• Own the product vision and roadmap for the Scala plugin, ensuring it evolves with the language and ecosystem.
• Analyze usage data and conduct user interviews to ground product decisions in real-world developer workflows.
• Dogfood the product daily to identify regressions and validate the developer experience firsthand.
• Define problem statements and success criteria for new features, collaborating closely with engineering teams.
• Represent core stakeholders and prioritize pain points like slow analysis, refactoring reliability, and AI agent integration.
• Coordinate with Developer Advocates and marketing teams to align planning with release trains.

Requirements

• Professional software development experience in Scala is mandatory.
• At least 5 years of experience in technical product management or a comparable role.
• Strong English communication skills (written and spoken).
• Experience with AI coding tools and agents.
• Ability to define clear roadmaps and make trade-off decisions based on technical constraints.
• Willingness to represent the product externally at conferences and in community interactions.

Nice to have

• Experience developing IntelliJ Platform plugins or working with the IntelliJ Platform SDK.
• Experience building evaluation pipelines, benchmarks, or quality measurement systems.
• History of technical speaking or publishing content for developer audiences.
