🦄 Description
Epoch Games is looking for a C++ Programmer to join development of The Lays of Althas: Sundered Order, an indie open-world fantasy RPG built with Unreal Engine 4. The team is fully remote and globally distributed, originally formed from modders behind the MERP project for Skyrim.

This long-term volunteer role involves close collaboration with the programming department to develop gameplay systems and engine functionality using C++ in Unreal Engine 4. The team is searching for developers passionate about high-quality game production and collaborative remote development.

🚀 Responsibilities
• Develop gameplay and engine systems using C++ in Unreal Engine 4
• Collaborate closely with other programmers and departments
• Participate in Slack meetings and team communication
• Report weekly programming progress
• Follow team development workflows and internal policies
• Write clean, clear, and maintainable code
• Support junior developers when needed

📚 Required Skills
• Strong C++ programming experience
• Unreal Engine 4 experience and understanding of C++ integration
• Experience completing at least one Unreal Engine C++ project
• Ability to write clean and readable code
• Knowledge of Ascent Combat Framework or Gameplay Ability System
• Strong online communication and collaboration skills
• English fluency
• Passion for coding and AAA-quality game development

👍 Nice to Have
• Blueprint scripting experience
• Git experience
• UI development experience
• Experience working on RPG projects
• Mentoring or teaching experience
• Portfolio project demonstrating Unreal Engine C++ work
