What you will do

• Manage full-cycle accounting operations including AP/AR, payroll, and bank reconciliations across multiple fractional clients.
• Own the monthly close process, ensuring GAAP-compliant financial statements and variance analysis with meaningful commentary.
• Systematically eliminate manual tasks by building automations using Google Apps Script, Zapier, and AI tools.
• Onboard new clients by assessing current book states and building prioritized remediation plans.
• Lead revenue recognition for various business models, specifically SaaS and services.
• Mentor and manage a part-time Accounting Manager to ensure high-quality team output and accountability.

Requirements

• 6–10+ years of progressive accounting experience, ideally a mix of public accounting and industry.
• Deep hands-on knowledge of GAAP and experience owning the full close cycle.
• Proficiency in QuickBooks Online and hands-on experience applying AI tools (Claude, ChatGPT) to accounting workflows.
• Technical ability to build automations using Google Apps Script or Zapier.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA strongly preferred.
• Ability to work within California business hours (Pacific Time).

Nice to have

• Experience in SaaS, health tech, or e-commerce environments.
• Familiarity with healthcare billing, claims, or reimbursement models.
• Prior exposure to fractional or multi-client accounting work.
