TL;DR

Process Controls Engineer (Automotive): Designing and troubleshooting electrical control and robotic systems for vehicle manufacturing with an accent on PLC programming, hardware design, and robotic integration. Focus on optimizing RESS pack assembly lines, managing supplier deliverables, and implementing AI/ML technologies in production.

Location: Hybrid (Warren, Michigan) - Must be able to report to local office

What you will do

  • Design, build, and troubleshoot electrical control and robotic systems for high-tech vehicle manufacturing.
  • Engineer and approve Bill of Materials (BOMs) and Bills of Equipment (BOEs) for battery pack production equipment.
  • Lead automation projects for RESS PML areas and support launches at components plants.
  • Collaborate with suppliers to manage program deliverables and provide technical direction.
  • Analyze processes and technology to implement the best methods for pack assembly and process protection.
  • Ensure successful equipment launch and drive continuous improvement of plant tools.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Electronic, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of experience as a Controls, Automation, Systems, or Electrical Engineer.
  • Proficiency with Rockwell Studio 5000 (PLC) and Siemens TIA Portal (HMI).
  • Experience with Eplan for hardware design and Autocad for interpreting engineering drawings.
  • Knowledge of Fanuc robots setup, motion control, drives, and vision systems.
  • Must be based in or able to commute to the local office in Warren, Michigan.

  • Experience with emerging technologies including AI and machine learning in manufacturing environments.
