Salary: $181,000 - $240,000

What you will do

• Own the strategy and execution for identity and account access, including MFA, passkeys/WebAuthn, and session management.
• Drive measurable improvements in login success, account recovery, and reduction of Account Takeovers (ATO).
• Lead 0-to-1 builds and scale migrations from legacy flows with strict launch discipline and monitoring.
• Partner with Engineering and Security on threat modeling and turn abuse case learnings into platform changes.
• Build platform primitives, APIs, and shared components for adoption across other internal teams.
• Manage build vs buy decisions and lead vendor evaluations and integrations.

Requirements

• Proven experience shipping production identity and access systems end-to-end.
• Deep familiarity with modern authentication patterns (MFA, passkeys/WebAuthn, session security).
• Working knowledge of OAuth 2.0 and OIDC.
• Must be based in the San Francisco Bay Area.
• AI proficiency: core expectation to use AI tools daily and implement ML-driven account protection.
• Strong cross-functional leadership skills with Engineering, Security, and Data teams.

Nice to have

• Experience with ATO investigations, fraud defenses, and incident response.
• Prior experience as a software engineer in security, infrastructure, or platform domains.
• Experience improving device and risk signals and detection feedback loops.
