What you will do
- Architect modular, configurable, and cost-effective HIL bench designs for platform integration and validation.
- Consolidate system and test requirements from stakeholders to define overall HIL design.
- Select and integrate off-the-shelf and custom components, including GPIO modules, FPGA boards, and signal conditioning.
- Own the commissioning workflow for all benches and lead continuous improvements to reduce build and bring-up time.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate sensor emulation, automation, and configuration management.
- Lead HIL bench issue resolution and perform deep-dive root cause analysis.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in System Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.
- 5+ years of hands-on experience designing and managing HIL systems in autonomous vehicles, robotics, or aerospace.
- Solid understanding of system integration and ECU communication protocols.
- Experience selecting and integrating dSPACE, NI, or Vector modules, and DAQ hardware.
- Proficiency in Linux or Unix based operating systems and command line tools.
- Must be based in or be able to work from the London or Sunnyvale offices (Hybrid).
Nice to have
- Programming or scripting skills in Python, C/C++, or MATLAB/Simulink.
- Exposure to vehicle dynamics modeling or closed-loop HIL testing.
- Familiarity with automotive standards such as ASPICE, ISO 26262, and ISO 21448 (SOTIF).
- Knowledge of automotive software architecture like AUTOSAR.
- Proficiency with agile development tools such as Jira or Jama.
