TL;DR
Senior Resource Plane Platform Engineer (Infrastructure): Building and evolving the Resource Plane of an Internal Developer Platform (IDP) with an accent on event streaming, messaging, caching, and object storage backends. Focus on designing and scaling stateful distributed systems like Kafka and Redis and implementing GitOps-based automation in on-prem environments.
Location: Must be located in Portugal (Fully remote within the country)

What you will do
- Design, implement, and operate shared Resource Plane services including Kafka, RabbitMQ, Redis, and Elasticsearch.
- Apply SRE principles to ensure the availability, scalability, and reliability of stateful production systems.
- Build and maintain Infrastructure-as-Code and GitOps-based automation for provisioning and lifecycle management.
- Integrate Resource Plane services into the Internal Developer Platform for self-service consumption.
- Lead incident response, root cause analysis, and reliability improvements for owned services.
- Collaborate with Kubernetes Platform and IDP teams on architecture and roadmap planning.
Requirements
- Location: Must be based in Portugal.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or Information Technology.
- Senior-level experience operating production-grade, stateful distributed systems.
- Strong hands-on experience with Kafka, RabbitMQ, Redis, and Elasticsearch.
- Proven experience running infrastructure primarily in on-prem environments.
- Deep experience with Terraform and GitOps workflows.
- Strong understanding of Linux systems, networking, and storage fundamentals.
Nice to have
- Experience designing shared platform services consumed by multiple product teams.
- Familiarity with IDP concepts and developer self-service platforms.
- Experience migrating on-prem workloads toward cloud-native or hybrid models.
- Prior experience in staff- or principal-level technical leadership roles.
