Data Scientist (AI): Designing, developing, and deploying scalable AI-enabled data solutions for the Department of Defense's CDAO ADA IR program with an accent on data pipelines, feature engineering, and ML services. Location: Onsite in Washington, D.C. (Pentagon SCIF). Must have Top Secret / SCI clearance to start.

Salary: $130,000 - $155,000 a year

What you will do

• Support the design, development, and operational deployment of scalable, AI-enabled data solutions.
• Develop and deploy data pipelines, pre-processing workflows, and feature engineering strategies.
• Implement machine learning services within secure, containerized environments.
• Collaborate with product managers, full-stack developers, and platform engineers to build decision-support tools.
• Transform raw data into meaningful insights for Combatant Commands.

Requirements

• Must have Top Secret / SCI clearance to start.
• Location: Must work onsite in a SCIF in the Pentagon (Washington, D.C.).
• 4+ years of experience in applied data science, machine learning engineering, or data pipeline development.
• Proficiency in Python, SQL, and distributed data frameworks such as Spark, Databricks, or PySpark.
• Experience developing ML models from training to deployment using scikit-learn, TensorFlow, XGBoost, and MLflow.
• Bachelor's degree with 3+ years of specialized experience, or equivalent professional experience.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with MLOps, API development, and secure cloud environments (AWS, Azure, Palantir Foundry).
• Strong understanding of data validation, model testing, and performance evaluation.
• Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau, Plotly, or Matplotlib.
• Ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
