What you will do

• Build and ship features related to database indices, constraints, and schemas.
• Evolve vector search capabilities to support graph, similarity search, and GenAI use cases.
• Design and optimize the indexing subsystem for complex graph queries and varied workloads.
• Write high-quality, testable, and efficient Java code to solve real-world performance challenges.
• Collaborate with product managers to define and prioritize the index area roadmap.
• Integrate advanced research and technologies into the database core.

Requirements

• Strong interest in the internal workings of database indexes.
• Proficiency in algorithm development.
• Proficiency in Java or a C-style programming language.
• Strong communication skills and a collaborative, humble mindset.

Nice to have

• Experience with Lucene.
• Knowledge of multi-threaded systems.
• Experience in performance profiling and optimization.
