What you will do

• Design and develop backend services, APIs, and enterprise integration components for mission-critical healthcare applications.
• Lead technical implementation activities, including business logic, data processing, and system integrations.
• Collaborate with architects and technical leadership to align development with platform standards and non-functional requirements.
• Perform code reviews, mentor junior engineers, and promote best practices for security and performance.
• Support troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and production support across multiple environments.
• Partner with QA and DevSecOps teams to improve testability, deployment readiness, and operational resilience.

Requirements

• Must reside within the continental US
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Government clearance
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in backend engineering or enterprise application development.
• Strong hands-on experience with Java, Spring Boot, RESTful API development, and microservices.
• Experience with SQL, relational database design, and backend data integration patterns.
• Strong understanding of authentication, authorization, and secure application development.

Nice to have

• Experience supporting federal healthcare programs or Department of Veterans Affairs initiatives.
• Familiarity with InterSystems IRIS, FHIR APIs, or healthcare interoperability workflows.
• Experience with containerized deployments, AWS cloud services, or platform modernization.
• Relevant cloud, Agile, or software development certifications.
