Salary: $263,245 – $310,043 + Bonus + Equity

What you will do

• Define and own the technical architecture of the platform, including multi-modal APIs and AI orchestration layers.
• Architect production-grade agentic AI systems, LLM integration layers, and retrieval pipelines.
• Lead cross-functional initiatives and decompose product goals into engineering roadmaps.
• Establish engineering standards for service contracts, data models, and reliability as the team scales.
• Mentor and elevate senior engineers to increase team autonomy and velocity.
• Integrate AI-native development tools like Claude Code and Cursor into daily engineering practices.

Requirements

• 8+ years of software engineering experience with a proven track record of setting technical direction.
• Expert proficiency in TypeScript and Python, with strong JavaScript skills for full-stack work.
• Deep expertise in distributed systems, event-driven architectures, and cloud-native infrastructure.
• Strong understanding of LLM internals, context management, and agentic AI architecture.
• BS/BA in Computer Science required (MS or PhD preferred).
• Full-time onsite presence in San Francisco is required.

Nice to have

• Experience architecting production conversational AI or voice AI systems.
• Domain expertise in fintech, payments, or core banking infrastructure.
• Experience as a founding or early-stage engineer at a scaled startup.
• Contributions to open-source AI systems or recognized technical writing.
